Alumni Spotlight: Tyler Buffett '88
Alumni Relations
Welcome, Alumni!
While your memories of SYV Family School might not frequently come to mind, please know that you are still thought of today as the school continues its legacy.
Our day-to-day operations are focused on our current students and supporting the brilliant faculty and staff who are the school's engine. We also know that we wouldn't be here today without your participation over the years, which now make up five full decades.
This school year marks the 50th anniversary since our founding families signed the Articles of Incorporation and the first school building was erected over Thanksgiving weekend in 1974. That building still stands today as the thriving hub of our preschool Green Door program. Around that building is now a bustling school of more than 80 students and a program that has continued to develop and expand, without losing sight of the fabric of its foundation.
If you step on campus today, you might have a familiar experience—open spaces, laughter, smiles, and warm hellos. Most importantly, you would see children engaged in and enjoying their school experience on the continuum of their education journey. This spirit is still alive today because, while we never take our eye off of our future planning, we always keep ourselves firmly planted in what has made the school a success for so many years.
As your Alumni Relations Coordinator, I’m in my thirteenth year as an enrolled parent, along with my husband, Ryan, who serves on the School’s Board. It has been our honor and privilege to call this school our community, and partner in the education of our children. Now, it is my honor to share in your memories and the stories from your time at SYV Family School. I look forward to continuing to connect with you as we celebrate this milestone anniversary.
In true Family School style, I say welcome here. The door is open, your name is still written in the history of our walls, and you are still a part of this school we call Family.
Sincerely Yours,
Leanne Elliott
